I hate writing negative reviews, but my experience was so poor here, I wanted to warn others. I also submitted all of this feedback to the business more than two weeks ago and got no response, so I assume they are ok with a public review. I have been getting biweekly massage for about 25 years, and while most experiences have been positive and therapeutic, my massage at Ohana was the second worst experience I've ever had (the only one worse was with a massage therapist in Seattle who detailed his sister's murder by the Green River Killer during my massage.) The massage therapist was, frankly, surly from the minute I introduced myself. She also told me that she did not read the paperwork I filled out that is required for new clients, which had a lot of detailed information about an injury and permanent disability that I have. Moreover, when I tried to advocate for myself during the appointment by asking to be in certain positions and asking for lighter pressure, the massage therapist very much gave a constant vibe of, "You're bothering me and your body is a problem," which is not what I am used to from bodyworkers, most of whom want to help their clients and ensure a positive experience. I absolutely take responsibility for my part in this by not ending the appointment shortly after it started even though I was extremely uncomfortable. It's weird to walk-out mid-appointment, but it was a good lesson for me that sometimes it's necessary. I literally was watching the clock for the 90 minutes to end. I also could have been more forthright with the receptionist who asked me how my service was when I left. I was clearly unhappy, but didn't elaborate on my answer because the massage therapist was in earshot. It's clear from reading reviews that there are other good massage therapists here, but I didn't get one, and I can't risk going back. Accessibility notes: -- Most of the massage rooms are on the second floor, up a long flight of stairs, but there seem to be a couple on the ground floor. I would call to book if this is a concern. -- If you are chemically sensitive, both restrooms have air fresheners, so heads up. -- There are a few reserved parking spaces in the rear of the building, but they are not ADA accessible. There are public lots nearby with ADA parking.

I was greeted by the owner, Saya, who I enjoyed chatting with before and after my massage. The vibe of this place is just perfection to me. Gentle lighting, peaceful decorations, everything feels so intentional here. My massage therapist, Carole, was the star of the show. I was struck by her kind nature and her desire for me to enjoy my experience. She tailored my massage to exactly what I needed and wanted. I’m so very grateful I got to have this experience that was so desperately needed. Can’t wait to come back for another massage again soon! ‍♀️☺️
